Information

Microorganisms can be found everywhere - even in the most unusual environments and under the most extreme conditions. Hydrogen-consuming microorganisms can be found in anaerobic environments, such as underground gas storage, deep geological structures, and habitats with temperatures exceeding 100 °C. In gas and hydrogen storage, these microbes can negatively affect gas quality and cause microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC).

Our service portfolio includes, among others, the following points:
- Development of special containers for sterile and anaerobic sampling (UHS, UGS)
- Qualitative and quantitative DNA analyses (qPCR, 16S profiling)
- Metabolite quantification (GC, HPLC)
- Detection and mitigation of microbiological corrosion
- Optimization of growth conditions for bacteria and archaea (e.g. for biomethanation plants)
- Comprehensive consulting and support during the implementation of H2-storages, exploration and exploitation of natural hydrogen.
