Information
MGH Energy is a company primarily dedicated to the decarbonization of maritime and air transport. It develops renewable synthetic fuel production projects in France and internationally.
These synthetic fuels, or e-fuels, are intended to replace fossil fuels such as methanol, kerosene, diesel, gasoline, and others. Its Moroccan subsidiary, MGH Energy Maroc, is leading the Janassim project in the Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab Region. This project aims to produce 500,000 tons of decarbonized fuels per year, with an investment of €5 billion, using 2 GW of renewable energy and 1 GW of electrolyzers.
Also involved in wind-assisted propulsion, MGH Energy acquired a stake in 2019 in the start-up Zéphyr & Borée. This pioneering sail-powered shipping company is developing the Canopée project: a transatlantic cargo vessel that will transport components of the Ariane VI rocket on behalf of Ariane Group.
MGH Energy is a subsidiary of the Soper Group. It is 100% owned by Jean-Michel Germa, a pioneer of wind power in France and Morocco, and the founder in 1989 of La Compagnie du Vent, which was sold to Engie in 2017.
