Amylion Gas Humidification System

Amylion: The biosourced innovation at the service of gas humidification. Specializing in bio-based materials, Amylion designs and manufactures bio-based, PFAS-free membranes made from whey proteins. Through green chemistry processes, Amylion develops high-value materials from a biocompatible and biodegradable protein material, valorizing by-products of the agri-food industry. Among others, our membranes find a privileged application in proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) where the control of hydration is a determining factor for the efficiency, power density and lifetime of the cells. Thanks to their selective permeability to water vapor, while being impermeable to gases, e.g. hydrogen and oxygen, our membranes are ideally suited for PEMFCs, thus optimizing their performance. Moreover, we are currently in the development phase of a humidification prototype based on a flat membrane system.
