R&D hydrogen injection platform in the NG grid

HIGGS - ID: 875091; https://www.higgsproject.eu - project implements a R&D injection platform that recreates the injection of different flows of green hydrogen into a natural gas (carrier) with variable composition, simulating the different origins of the gas (biogas, synthetic methane / and limits per country). Starting date of construction is January 2021, and the access will be possible after the completion of the project in the second part of 2022.
An extensive and experimental validation in real environment conditions of the main components of the gas grid can be carried out, with continuous control of parameters such as gas quality, impurities, flow, pressure, etc. Low (10%), medium (10-30 vol.%) and high hydrogen (up to 100%) concentrations in high pressure (up to 80 bar) natural gas grids can be investigated with a maximum hydrogen feeding rate of 0.8 kg/h and a total gas flow in the loop ≈ 56 Nm3 /h.
